Brian Francis Lawlor, age 71, of Newburyport, MA, died January 27, 2026, at Lahey Medical Center in Burlington.

Born in Lynn, MA on September 8, 1954, he was the son of the late Maurice F. and Arline L. (Griffin) Felt and was a graduate of Newburyport High School Class of 1972.

He went on to further his education earning a Licensed Practical Nursing Program at Essex Agricultural Institute, attended Tulsa Junior College in Tulsa, Oklahoma and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. Brian had worked at Salem Hospital for many years and was very dedicated to his patients, giving them the best of his care.

In his spare time he was an avid reader, dedicated historian about the Titanic, loved antiques and being a major collector of many, many things.

He is survived by a son, Shawn Lawlor of FL; grandchildren Aaron, Shelby, Savannah & Franki Lawlor, seven brothers, Patrick Lawlor of Newburyport, MA, Mark Lawlor of Exeter, NH, Maurice F. Lawlor, IV and wife Wendy of Nokesville, VA, Steve Makros of Orange Park, FL, George Makros of NH, Christopher Makros and wife Deb of Orange Park, FL, and Michael Makros and wife Joy of Dunnellon, FL; four sisters, Maureen Lawlor of Kettering, Ohio, Stacey Ann Leeper of Daytona, FL, Deanne Dagg of Falmouth, MA, Cathy Chadwick of Groveland, MA, cousin, Kathy Clark Lucia and husband Bill of Tallaahassee, along with countless nieces, nephews and extended family. He is predeceased by two brothers, Skip Lawlor and Andrew Makros and three sisters, Marybeth Bourbeau, Arlene Kouns and Donna Mello.

The family will plan a private burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Danvers, where Brian will be laid to eternal rest. Arrangements were made by Elliott, Woodworth & Rogers, 35 Green Street, Newburyport, MA 01950.
