Brian Madison Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory on Jan. 27, 2026.
Brian Ford Madison, 72, born November 14, 1953, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Harry G. Madison and Lois Ford Madison, passed away on January 26, 2026.

Brian loved spending time with his grandchildren, especially teaching them how to fix things and work on home improvement projects. He enjoyed the outdoors, hiking Indiana's state parks, with special fondness for Mounds State Park and McCormick's Creek, where he spent many Thanksgivings with family. Brian and his wife, Cheryl, were married for 45 years, and nearly every weekend they visited a state park together. He also loved nature preserves and planting flowers to attract birds and butterflies, particularly goldfinches and monarchs. Brian always looked forward to the annual trip with his children and grandchildren to an amusement park.

Brian loved to travel and explore National Parks, with favorite vacation spots being the beaches of North Carolina. He earned his pilot's license and flew a Cessna shortly afterward but chose not to fly again, often saying it was too dangerous; however, when flying for vacation with Cheryl, he would say it was "the quickest way to get there." He had a deep love of history, especially World War II, attended Purdue University, and was a loyal IU basketball and football fan as well as an Indianapolis Colts fan. Brian loved all animals, especially Basset hounds, and enjoyed cars, amusement parks, and rock and roll music.

Brian is survived by his wife, Cheryl Madison; son, Randall (Kelly) Madison; daughter, Cynthia Hunter; granddaughter, Ava Madison; grandson, Joshua Hunter; grandson, Chase Hunter; granddaughter, Isabel Madison; granddaughter, Samantha Madison; cousin, Anne (Gerald) Harper; cousin, Phyllis Morrison; cousin, Barbara Madison.

He was preceded in death by his parents', Harry and Lois; brother, Daryl Madison; and several aunts and uncles.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 31st, 2026 from 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 West 53rd Street, Anderson, Indiana 46013.

Services will begin at 2:00 PM with Deacon Jeff Stewart of Kingston Avenue officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to Animal Protection League or Tuberous Sclerosis Complex Alliance in honor of Brian.

Brian will be remembered for his curiosity, kindness, and unwavering devotion to his family.

The family would like to thank Dr. Reddy and staff, Dr. Robert Anderson and Compassus Hospice staff.
