Brian Maki age 75 passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on November 16, 2024.
Brian was Born on April, 18 1949 in Ironwood, MI to Reino and Agnes Maki. He was a mechanic by trade and had a love for hot rods/classic cars and drag racing. In high school he met his first true love, Dottie and would go on to marry her and together raised two children until her passing on December 23, 1993. Later in life he would meet, fall in love and marry his second wife, Deanna and they celebrated 27 years of marriage just before his passing.
At age 18 he volunteered to serve his country with the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War and served 2 tours.
Much of Brian's life he worked for Ryder Truck Rentals-he was a great provider of his family. Most weekends were spent at Bandimere Speedway during the racing season and in any other free time you could find him either in the garage working on his car, reading the newspaper or a book, watching sports but mostly the Broncos or Nuggets, and he had a love for good ole rock and roll music which has had a significant influence on his family.
Surviving Brian is his wife, Deanna, his daughters Trisha (Michael), Michelle (Scott), step children Sara and Tyler (Alisa). Also survived by 5 grandchildren: Brianna, Ashley, Alyssa, Savanna and Jagr; 6 great grandchildren: Illianna, Analisia, James, John, Olive, and soon to be Robert Jr.; his brother Pete (Shirley) Maki and Susan (Bob) Swartwood.
Brian was preceded in death by his parents, Reino and Agnes Maki, and his first wife, Dottie Maki.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00am on Tuesday, November 26th at The Northglenn Elks Lodge
10969 Irma Dr. Northglenn, CO 80233.
This is a casual occasion, please come as you are but feel free in his spirit to wear your favorite sports or racing apparel.
