TONTOGANY -- Brian B. Mozena, 65, of Tontogany, Ohio passed away on Wednesday April 23, 2025. He was born on January 22, 1960, to the late Burdette and Wilma (Wolf) Mozena. He married the love of his life Lori Halladay on June 10, 1978, and she proceeded him in death on March 28, 2021.
Brian dedicated 34 years of his life to serving his community as a courageous firefighter and Fire Chief at the Washington Township Fire Department. Brian with his hard-working spirit also worked as a maintenance mechanic for Cooper Standard and Johns Manville.
Outside of work, Brian found true joy riding his Harley-Davidson with friends and especially loved camping with his beloved son James. A die-hard fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cleveland Browns, he could often be found cheering them on no matter the score.
Above all Brian was a man of heart, a father, grandfather and friend who lived for his family. His kindness, strength and sense of humor touched everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his children, James Mozena, Bret (Krissy) Mozena, Sarah (Bob) Heuring, brother-in-law Tom (Jo) Halladay, sister-in-law Shelli Halladay, treasured grandchildren Nathan, Bella, Dom, Isaac, Jacob, Alex and many nieces and nephews.
Along with is beloved wife, Lori, Brian was preceded in death by his parents, father and mother-in- law Tom and Sue Halladay, sister Barbara Sue, brother-in-law Mike Cox and sister-in-law Julie Cox.
A visitation for Brian will be held on Monday April 28, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. at Peinert-Dunn Funeral Home located at 18620 Washington Street Tontogany, Ohio 43566. A Last Alarm Service will be rendered by the Washington Township Fire Department at 6:45 p.m. Monday evening. His funeral service will be held Tuesday April 29, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Peinert-Dunn Funeral Home Tontogany, Ohio. Pastor Jeanne Davies will officiate. Interment will follow at Tontogany Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Washington Township Fire Department.
