Brian Jules "Buck" Negrotto

Brian Jules "Buck" Negrotto passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at Oakwood Village Assisted Living in Zachary Louisiana at age 73. Brian was the youngest of 3 children born to John DeLos Negrotto and Yvonne Rittiner Negrotto in New Orleans Louisiana. He was 3 months premature weighing 2 ½ pounds at birth, but he grew to be a strong healthy boy that gave his older siblings much grief. He had an amazingly carefree childhood. His family enjoyed crabbing by the lake, summer vacations at the Capri by the Sea in Destin and as many Mardi Gras parades as possible. Growing up Catholic in New Orleans, Fridays were family pizza night. He said that he was a teenager before he knew there was any pizza other than anchovy pizza. He had a close circle of friends in the neighborhood that he continued to stay in touch with.

Some of his favorite things were hunting, fishing, camping, crabbing, his fraternity brothers, pint sized cups of coffee, a burger with fries and a nice cold beer or two. He was very talented at fixing just about anything. Over his career he repaired everything from pumps and compressors to copier and slot machines. His youngest daughter bragged that "Dad can fix anything with duct tape and super glue". Later in life, his days always began with a cup of coffee, a bagel and binoculars watching birds on the back porch. And sometimes it ended with a cold Corona on the same porch.

Brian is survived by his wife of 37 years Katherine Lamartiniere Negrotto, daughter Shannon Negrotto Thibodeaux (James), son Brian Jules Negrotto Jr (Heather), son Julien Thomas Negrotto (Arial), daughter Jessie Negrotto Garcia (Neil Ahldwin) and his sister Bonnie Negrotto Mims (Dale). He was blessed with many grandchildren: Brandon Thibodeaux (Eunice), Bradly Thibodeaux (Alexia), Conner Negrotto, Kaleb Negrotto, Adele Dupont, Alice Dupont, Guillaume Dupont, Ada Negrotto, Anastasia Negrotto, Aurora Negrotto and Azalea Garcia. He was preceded in death by his mother Yvonne Rittiner Negrotto, his father John DeLos Negrotto, his brother Barry John Negrotto and sister-in-law Jacque O'Rourke Negrotto.

The family would like to extend appreciation to the staff at Oakwood Village Assisted Living and Compassus Hospice for the compassionate care given to Brian and his family in his last months.
