Brian Patrick Monahan

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Brian Patrick Monahan, who left this world on April 13, 2023 in Salt Lake City, Utah at the tender age of 25. He was born on February 13, 1998 in Durango, Colorado, the beloved child of Patrick Michael Monahan and Kathrine Christine Parmiter.

Brian attended St. Columba School in Durango, Colorado and graduated from Fruita Monument High School. Professionally, he worked as a roughneck for Patterson-UTI Energy Inc. He was a dedicated worker, always committed to his job and colleagues.

In his free time, Brian indulged in a variety of hobbies, including hunting, fishing, kayaking, target shooting, and bicycling. He was a thoughtful friend and loved to surround himself with people, emanating a vibe of kindness, and compassion. Brian touched the lives of everyone who had the opportunity to cross his path, and his loss will be felt deeply by all.

Beyond his impressive career and hobbies, Brian had a loving family. He is survived by his father Patrick Michael Monahan, mother Kathrine Christine Parmiter, brother Michael Robert Monahan and sister-in-law Rileigh Latham Monahan, half-sister Evelyn Chamblee, half-brother Riley Nathan Mallett, grandparents Joseph & Nancy Monahan and Lon Parmiter, aunts Cathy Ann Monahan, Jennifer Lynn Monahan, and Colleen Andrea Monahan Bynum, uncles Robert Bynum, and Sean Parmiter, nieces Kacelyn and Madilyn Monahan, and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparent Linda Bradly Parmiter.

A remembrance ceremony will be held on the Grand Mesa of Colorado later this summer for family and friends to pay their final respects. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that charitable donations be made to the American Heart Association in Brian's honor.
