Obituary published on Legacy.com by A Natural State Funeral Service & Crematory on Aug. 21, 2024.
Brian Scott Phillips, 53 of Cabot, passed away on Sunday, August 18th at Baptist Springhill in North Little Rock after a brief battle with cancer. Brian was born June 25, 1971 to Karen (Sipe) and Edmund Phillips in Enid, OK. Brian graduated from Airline High School in Bossier City, LA and was an Army Veteran. Brian was a member of Piney Methodist Church in Hot Springs. He worked for XPO (formerly Con-Way Freight) for the last eighteen years.
Brian was an avid Razorback fan, a lover of all sports and loved spending time with his family, especially on cruises where he enjoyed his many ice cream cones and Guy's Burger Joint hamburgers. You would often find ESPN with some sort of sport playing on the TV if Brian was in the room. He could talk about sports for hours with anyone who would engage, especially his beloved Razorbacks. We hope that when you hear the crowds call the Hogs or the Razorback fight song being played, you will think of him fondly. This season, Brian will be calling those Hogs from the best seat in the house.
He was proud to have served his country and was always willing to try to help fellow veterans navigate the system to get the benefits that they earned.
Husband, Daddy, Grumpy and Veteran were a few titles that Brian achieved during his life. Titles that he held dear to his heart. Recently becoming Grumpy to his two precious grandbabies gave him a new sense of pride that would put the biggest smile on his face. Brian loved being a Grumpy just as much as he loved being a dad. He was eagerly awaiting the newest addition in the spring. Brian's heart was filled with so much love and he wasn't afraid to show it. He NEVER met a stranger. Once Brian's friend, you were his friend for life.
Brian was preceded in death by his parents, Karen and Bobby Fondren and Edmund Phillips, his grandparents Genna and Whitfield Phillips and Vivian and Floyd Sipe and his niece Caci Cavalier. He is survived by his loving wife, Lori Phillips, three daughters Meagan-Grace, Emma-Rae and Eliza-Leighton Phillips all of the home, three sons Tristin (Lynsi) of Benton, AR, Austin (Abby) of Fort Calhoun, NE and Matthew-Charles Phillips of the home, Granddaughter, Blakely Josephine of Fort Calhoun, Grandson, Wesley James of Benton and a third precious grandlove due in the spring. He is also survived by his sisters Kayla Strange and Becki Fondren both of Haughton, LA, his uncle; Mike Sipe of Hot Springs, his mothers and fathers-in-law Rhonda and Rod Finn of Cabot and Butch and Donna McNespey of Jacksonville, bonus parents Anne and George Green of Blackstone, VA, nieces, Alexis and Ashlynn, nephews, Stacy (Kalyn) Strange and Lorn Galliano and many other loved ones and friends.
