Brian, Patrick Plourde 65, passed peacefully January 16, 2026 with family present and beloved wife Nancy holding his hand.

Brian was born in Biddeford Maine, raised by loving and devoted parents Patrick I. Plourde (Fort Kent) and Elizabeth "Betty" Ann (Waldron) Plourde (Westbrook)

Brian married his high school sweetheart Nancy after college and six years of dating. They celebrated 38 years of marriage in September of 2025.

Brian spent his growing up years in Westbrook and met his wife during participation in the Westbrook music program. They raised a son and a daughter during the 30 years they lived in South Portland.

Brian graduated from Westbrook high school in 1979 and participated in wind ensemble, stage band, marching band. Westbrook Music supervisor and teacher Donald S Doane commented the following on Brian's academic ability and motivation." Brian is one of the most talented students I have taught. He is probably the most "natural" musician. He has exceptionally "fine ears " and can pick up on any song or set of changes. Personally, he is one of the finest young men I have ever met. He has a warmth about him that is rare in a young man of his age. I would recommend Brian in any endeavor that he might undertake. "

Although Brian was accepted at Northeastern university. He went to college for music, which was his first love.

Brian attended BOSTON's Berklee College of music with scholarships and graduated in 1983 with a bachelor of music and major in professional music.

Never wanting to be complacent, he worked during high school and summer breaks at Sebago shoe company in Westbrook, which used to reside in the Dana warp Mill. His experience in shipping and inventory led to a job post college at Hannaford Brothers Rumery Park South Portland. He took advantage to further his education through work, completing an associate degree at Northeast Technical Institution for IT.

At Hannaford Brothers he started work in the frozen food warehouse in inventory and then into logistics at a corporate level and a position in the Scarborough office at corporate for a tenure of 21 years. He led innovations in the distribution for the turkeys that were on local plates for Thanksgiving meals. This monumental task started in August before November and with his logistic and forecasting knowledge he became the top world user of the programs that helped forecast inventory in the South Portland Hannaford warehouse.

Brian began work at Nestlé Waters as a consultant. Hours into his first day, he solved a computer issue that had plague the company for three months. He remained there for 18 years as a full-time employee.

All during his 40 hour per week jobs, he spent countless hours playing music on weekends and special occasions. The bands he played in=Roy Clark (fusion jazz duo), Sally Davis Trio, Ocean soul jazz, Gil Donatelli band, GUY Williams band, Sound Decision band headed by Brad Ciechomski. For the last 20+ years spent time setting up and playing fantastic music with his buddy Jim Ciampi of Jim Ciampi productions.

Brian's retirement job was with Home Depot Portland for the last seven years. He was part of the MET (materials execution team) He would walk on average 10,000 steps daily. He continued to speak fondly of the MET team friends and remained in contact after stopping work due to illness.

Brian took great pleasure in his work, friends who became extended family and spoke often of memories of camping and skiing trips as a youth with cousins and extended family friends.

Brian was an active involved, dad, uncle, great uncle, great great uncle, brother, brother-in-law, grandfather and the most beloved husband.

Surviving are wife, Nancy (Knudsen), Son Nathan William (Dakota) grandchildren Zoe, Axel, Ramona. Daughter Laura Jean Rotruck (Nick) wife's three sisters, Susan Ham (John - who spent satisfying hours with Brian discussing world problems & solutions) Bonnie Dunlap (Ron-talented Dr and extraordinary woodworker who's advice he appreciated) Jeanie K Clemmer (beloved brother-in-law Wes Clemmer passed 2001). Siblings = sister Sandi Perillo-Simmons (Mike). brother Tim Griggs (Kathi) Niece, Victoria Ham Dahms (Mark) great Niece Shelby Dahms Lucier (Blake) their sons Brock and Boone. Nephew Johnny Dunlap. (Heather) daughters, Haley and Serena. Nephew, Brian Dunlap. Nephew Gregory Dunlap. (Tania) children Ayla, Levi, Lia. Nephew and co-conspirator in shed project William Knudsen Clemmer. (Rebekah), great niece Margaret Jean= MJ, who is a bright spot during her visits. Nephew, Garrett Morgan Clemmer Heather) sons /great nephews -Alister, Owen, Gabriel, Niall, Everette. He appreciated interactions & spending holidays with their busy family. Newly found niece Sarah Perillo Beudert (Nick) and newly found nephew Matthew Perillo. (Julia). Aunts: Bethilda Knudsen & family, Sally Group and family, (Gloria) Jean Christie of Oakland & family. Honorary Aunt Claudette Perreault (Portland) & family. Brian's passing is a loss his family will never understand & they will miss him forever.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, February 20th at 11:00am at the East Point Church in South Portland, Maine.
