Brian Kieth Potrykus passed away on Friday, December 26th, 2025. Born on February 12th, 1960, in Cudahy, Wisconsin to parents Eugene and Ruth Potrykus. He spent his childhood through young adulthood in Milwaukee with his family where he developed his love of sports and comedy. He played high school football and was a huge fan of the Green Bay Packers. He loved the Milwaukee Brewers and Bucks as well. He enjoyed watching and listening to comedy greats like George Carlin and Sam Kennison. He loved animals and had many pet cats and dogs through the years.
Brian moved to Oklahoma City in his 20's where he began a career in upholstery and enjoyed hobbies like golf and fishing. He met the love of his life, Karen Wheeler in 1989 and they were married in October 25th, 1990. He spent the next 25 years with her and her 2 children, Chris and Darrell.
Brian's life work in the interior design industry was filled with many wonderful and beautiful upholstered pieces of furniture and design elements that still fill the homes of many Oklahoma residents. He retired at the age of 62 where he enjoyed relaxing and rooting on his favorite teams.
Brian was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Ruth Potrykus. His beloved wife, Karen Potrykus. He was survived by his 2 brothers, Mark and Lee Potrykus, his sister Susan Krueger, sister in law Carol Potrykus, nephews Adam Potrykus and Alex Krueger. His step sons Chris Shannon and Darrell Short, brother in law Donny Wheeler and his wife Jeanne Wheeler. Granddaughter Makenzy Short and great granddaughter Genesis Short.
Brian was loved by many and will always be remembered for his loving, caring personality, and his persistent sense of humor. He will be missed by all that knew him. His final wishes were to be put to rest next his wife Karen in Cloudy Cemetery in Cloudy, Oklahoma. May God rest his soul and he have eternal peace and happiness.
