Brian Paul Pundt

Brian Pundt, 70, of Valencia, CA, died after a brief battle with cancer on February 7, 2026.

He was born the youngest of five brothers in Buffalo, NY to Jane and Irving Pundt, and moved with his family to Snowflake, AZ, eventually settling in Tucson, AZ. Brian attended Amphitheater HS ('74) and was active in theatre before becoming a broadcast engineer for television and sports; working on sitcoms, talk shows, minor and professional league sports, as well as the 1984 Summer Olympics. He was also a dedicated volunteer to the Hart HS Regiment for 25 years.

Brian was preceded in death by his mother, Jane Hart, father Irving Pundt, and brothers Steven and Keith "Kip" Pundt, and is survived by his wife Shirley Stapleton Pundt, daughters Jamie Otteson and Stephanie Bates, son-in-law Adam Bates, grandson Cameron Otteson, brothers Gary (Mindy) and Jeff Pundt, his 22 nieces and nephews, their children, and his cousins.

The memorial service is March 7, 2026 at Hart on Main, Newhall, CA with a private ash spreading to follow at a later date. Donations to Music For All, Broadway Cares, and The Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation would be greatly appreciated in lieu of flowers.
