Brian Rorrer Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Purse & Son Funeral Home on Sep. 7, 2024.
DATELINE: TECUMSEH, MICHIGAN
Brian Lee Rorrer, 61, passed away unexpectedly on September 5, 2024. He was a beloved son, brother, father, uncle, husband, grandfather, and friend to all who knew him. His sparkling blue eyes, sense of humor, and strong work ethic were his most notable characteristics. He was looking forward to retiring in 2025, but God called him to his heavenly home instead.
Brian was born on July 6, 1963, in Canton, Ohio. His family moved to Westland, Michigan and then ultimately Milan, Michigan, where he was raised. He graduated from Milan High School in 1981 where he enjoyed participating in the FFA. Upon graduation he immediately entered the work force as a machinist serving at a number of corporations but for the past 23 years worked at DAVCO Technology, in Saline, Michigan.
He was raised in the Christian faith, attended Milan Baptist Church while growing up, and accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior. He was a great baseball player and his dad, Ron, coached him in little league. Brian also participated in Cub Scouts, attended Brigade men's teen group at church where he played a mean game of dodgeball, and spent time going to Camp Barakel in Fairview, Michigan, in his youth.
As noted, from an early age, Brian had a desire to work hard, and it was in junior high and high school when he served with Heath Farms in Milan, Michigan. In addition to working at DAVCO, he was also the proud owner of B&B Lawncare & Snow Removal. He enjoyed serving his many clients in SE Michigan.
Brian was also a father to two daughters, Allison, and Katie from his first marriage, and son, Matthew from his second marriage to Barb (Handley) Rorrer. He enjoyed spending time with his family, taking trips to Florida, hunting, and working on projects around the home.
Brian is survived by his parents, Ronnie and Nancy Rorrer; his wife, Barb Rorrer; his two daughters, Allison (Chris) Pitylak, and their children, Ronan and Reagan, Katie (Justin) VanWashenova, and their children, Delilah, Oliver and Emmet; his son, Matthew Rorrer and fiancé, Isabella, and her son, Sawyer; sisters, Cindy (Brent) Elliott and Laurie (Jeff) Armstrong, in addition to several nieces and nephews and great nieces & nephews.
Brian was preceded in death by his grandparents, Winston & Hester Hyde, Lurlene Rorrer, and his brother Danny Rorrer.
He will be greatly missed in the days ahead, but his family looks forward to seeing him in heaven when we all will unite once again. "He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away." --Revelation 21:4
Visitation will take place on Saturday, September 14, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., at Purse & Son Funeral Home, 210 W. Pottawattamie Street, Tecumseh, Michigan, immediately followed by a 1:00 pm Funeral Service with his nephew Benjamin Elliott officiating. Burial will follow at Ridgeway Cemetery.
