Brian Neal Spurlock, 37, of Bono, passed from this life on Saturday, October 19, 2024, in Fulton County near Mammoth Spring.
Born in Jonesboro to Scott and Linda Barksdale Spurlock, Brian was a 2006 graduate of Jonesboro High School and lived all of his life in Jonesboro before moving to Bono this year. He was an Ironworker in Structural Steel working as a Supervisor for D.S. Murphy Construction Company of Jonesboro.
Brian was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Jonesboro and was an avid outdoorsman thoroughly enjoying hunting and fishing. He loved spending his free time hunting at Mammoth Spring and fishing, canoeing and kayaking the Spring River. Brian also enjoyed Bar-B-Qing and cooking for his friends. He was a master griller and enjoyed sharing his dishes and doing favors for others. In the summer months, Brian loved to spend time on Lake Norfork water skiing and boating. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, John and Rosa Barksdale, his paternal grandparents, Ted and Polly Spurlock, and an aunt, Susan Hefner.
Survivors include his wife, Lauren Spurlock of the home;
parents, Scott and Linda Spurlock of Jonesboro;
1 daughter, Lily Snyder (Landen Brown) of the home;
2 sons, Noah Brownderville and Cole Brownderville, both of the home;
1 sister, Amanda Spurlock (Justin Walker) of Jonesboro;
his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Steve and Peggy Householder of Jonesboro;
2 sisters-in-law, Sarah Sauser (Cody) and Elizabeth Bonham (Daniel) all of Bono;
1 brother-in-law, Steven Householder (Cindy) of Jonesboro;
his aunts and uncles, Kevin Barksdale of Jonesboro, Kenneth Barksdale (Nancy) of Thibodaux, Louisiana, Anita Keller of Little Rock, and Greg Spurlock of Jonesboro;
his granddaughter to arrive in January; and
several nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Dale Davis and Rev. Steven Householder officiating. Burial will be private. Visitation will precede the funeral service from 1:00-2:30 p.m. in the Chapel.
For lasting memorials, the family asks that consideration be given to the Arkansas Children's Hospital Burn Unit, 1 Childrens Way, Slot 661, Little Rock, AR 72202, or any programs offered through the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission to benefit the youth of Arkansas.
