Brian D. "Buckwheat" Starr, 62, of Barnesville, Ohio passed away on Monday, December 29, 2025 at WVU Barnesville Hospital. He was born on January 2, 1963 in Barnesville, Ohio to the late Laurence Gary "Pump" and Patricia Marlene "Patty" (Bunting) Starr.
Buck was a 1982 graduate of Barnesville High School. He was a member of the Barnesville VFW and the American Legion. Buck belonged to Laborer's Union #809 and most recently worked for NFI Industries. Buck could be found in the bleachers cheering on his grandkids or the Shamrocks, out looking for deer, hunting, or spending time with his family, whom he loved dearly.
Buck is survived by his wife, whom he married on April 16, 1983, Vicki L. Starr; son, Corey (Lindsay) Starr; grandchildren, Lennon, Harrison, Callahan, and Collins; siblings, Tony (Tracy Ford) Starr and Diane (Scott) Heskett; nieces, Doty (Jeff) Toohey, Kimberly Starr, Heather Campbell, and Rachel Marmie; nephews, Justin (Kassey) Starr, Austin Starr, and Dalton Starr; and many other nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 4, 2026 from 1-5pm at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio. The funeral service will be Monday, January 5, 2026 at 11:00am with Corey Powell officiating at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Cutting Class for a Cure, in Buck's memory.
