Brian was born February 6, 1956, in Holland, Michigan, to Ivan and Rose (Havinga) Van Faasen. He graduated from Holland Christian High School in 1974 and soon started his career as an EMT and professional firefighter. Brian retired after 30 years of service from the Holland City Fire Department in 2010. Brian married Patricia Rowell in 1983, and she preceded him in death in 2023. In their retirement, Fuzz and Patricia spent most of their time at their cottage on Wolf Lake. Fuzz was also the owner and operator of West Ottawa Door for several years.
He is survived by his brother Brent and Lois Van Faasen of Holland, step-daughters: Toni and David Laws, Jodi and Wayne Ray; many step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren, niece Amy and Scott Goddard, his special friend Julie Canfield, in-laws: Mike Rowell, Sue Burke, Tim and Kathy Rowell, Beverly Rowell, and many extended family members and friends.
A visitation will be held 2:00-4:00 & 6:00-8:00 pm, Monday, October 13, 2025, at the Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home, 315 E. 16th Street, Holland MI 49423. Interment will be in Pilgrim Home Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Fuzz's honor may be made to the VFW Post 5315, 2225 M-37, Baldwin, MI 49304. www.langelandsterenberg.com
