Brian Whitehurst passed away peacefully at his home on March 19, 2025.
Brian was born in Independence, Kansas, at Mercy Hospital to Richard and Dixie Whitehurst on June 21, 1956. Throughout his childhood, his family lived in various cities and states.
As a young man, he joined the Army, went through basic training, and was offered an opportunity to go to West Point, but he declined by choosing another path. He went to college for a short time while working at various jobs during his adult life. He had a great opportunity to train and learn how to cut meat. He loved and excelled in this profession. During his life, he married his wife Monica (Pruett). They had over 35 years together loving each other and finding happiness.
Brian proceeded in death by his parents Richard and Dixie Whitehurst, father and mother-in-law Sid and Janet Pruett, and his grandparents, along with his sister-in-law Nancy Whitehurst and brother-in-law Joe Merchant.
His surviving family members include his wife Monica, two brothers Keith and Neal, sister-in-law Cindy Pruett Merchant, and brother-in-law Victor Pruett. This includes several nieces and nephews. Isabel Whitehurst, Mishelle (Brad) Denton, David (Lesa) Whitson, Rick (Charlene) Whitson, Krystal (Lydia) Whitson, Jon Whitson, Deanne Pruett, Sidney Pruett, and Eric Pruett, along with several great nieces and nephews.
Brian wouldn't want anyone to be sad for too long. He would want you to remember the love, memories, and laughter shared.
