SACATON — Brian T. Whitman, 57, died peacefully at Chandler Regional Medical Center with family and friends by his side.
Mr. Whitman was born on Sept. 14, 1967, and was a son of Verna Jean Manuel Whitman Perez and Earl A. Whitman Jr. The family lived in Oakland, California, for eight years and then moved to Alameda, California. He started school there and made many friends. He was a quiet person but made friends easily and had a smile for everyone.
In 1981 the family moved back to Sacaton. He attended school there and went on to Phoenix Indian School for high school. He loved sports and traveling to other schools to compete. He was thoughtful and a giving person. He never married but stayed with his family and helped them. He was a good cook.
Survivors include his mother; two brothers, Vernon D. Whitman of Portland, Oregon, and Danny Terry of Santan; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father; brothers Earl D. Whitman III and Errol R. Whitman; sisters Sandra D. Campbell and Brenda Ortega; three stepbrothers; and two stepsisters.
