David Hal Whitman, 73, of Warsaw, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, August 21, 2025, surrounded by his loving family after an extended illness.

Born on February 28, 1952, in Bryan, Ohio, David served his country in the Navy for three years. He found joy and passion in life through music, particularly as a talented drummer who loved listening to, recording, and creating music. A true enthusiast, he also had a deep appreciation for cars, sporty and classic models. He was the funniest guy in the room, always able to make people laugh with his humorous stories and jokes. Most recently, David was a dedicated site manager at Valicor Environmental Services.

On June 4, 1988, he married Carmen Krohn, in Ligonier, and they lived a beautiful life together.

David will be deeply missed by his wife, Carmen Whitman of Warsaw; his three daughters, Shawna Brown of Garden City, Michigan, Sarah Mackey of West Bloomfield, Michigan, and Adrienne Krohn of Elkhart. He was a proud grandfather to five grandchildren: Connor, Chandler, Luke, Colin, and Brynn. He is also survived by his brother, Dan (Gladys) Whitman, and his sister, Sandi Caswell, both of Toledo, Ohio.

In accordance with his wishes, cremation will take place at Yoder-Culp Crematory. No services are scheduled at this time.

Memorial gifts may be made in David's honor to the Humane Society of Elkhart County.
