Brian Ziehl, age 59, passed away at home in Greenville on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, after a short battle with cancer. He was born on April 14, 1964, in Appleton, WI; the son of LeRoy and Beverly (Schneider) Ziehl. He married Patti Dietz on July 21, 1990 at St. John the Baptist Church in Menasha, and together they raised 3 children. Brian was a proud employee of Miller Electric (Illinois Tool Works) for 39 years. Brian enjoyed antique tractor pulling with his father, gardening, tinkering in his shed and fixing everything that broke.
Brian is survived by his wife Patti, and children Kristin, Nicole (friend Cody Orley) and Kevin. His mother Beverly Ziehl; Patti's parents Bob and Johanna Dietz, three sisters Barb (Joe) Lemmers, Kathy (fiancé Terry Manley) and Brenda (Dave) Holz; sisters-in-law, Kathy Dietz and Brenda Ziehl; nephews Gregg (Arcadia) Holz, Adam Holz, Joshua (friend Jackie Sell) Holz, and Zachary Zitske; good friend Dan (Sharon) Bailey and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Brian was preceded in death by his father, LeRoy, and brother, Keith.
A visitation will be held from 4 pm until the time of service at 7 pm on Thursday, December 28, 2023, at Brettschneider Trettin-Nickel Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 606 North Oneida St, Appleton, WI. He will be laid to rest at Appleton Highland Memorial Park.
Brian's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our family and friends, our friends and co-workers at Miller Electric (Illinois Tool Works) and Kimberly-Clark Corp, the team at ThedaCare Cancer Center, the doctors and nurses at Theda Care Regional Hospital - Appleton, and ThedaCare Hospice for their compassion and care during this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the CP Center in Green Bay, WI in honor of his nephew, Adam, or to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
