Brice Long passed away surrounded by his family on Monday, June 3, 2024.
Our loving Brice has stepped into infinite care and love of God. Brice grew up, one of three children from the late Jack and Lois Long. He attended the University of Cullowhee, where he graduated.
Brice is predeceased by a brother, Henry Long; nephew, Phillip Long.
Brice is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Deborah Long. Beloved children, daughter Teresa Long-Henson and son, Mark Long, brother Martin Long (Debbie) and sister-in-law, Carolyn Long. Also surviving are, nieces, Vicki Whilden, Crystal Jackson (Hondo), Christine Spencer, Sophia Jackson, Sy-eed Jackson, nephews, Kane Long (Heather), Jake Long (April).
He instilled generosity, honesty, a strong work ethic with room for walks and great joy.
Also special to Brice were in-laws, Teressa Spencer, Freddie Spencer.
Brice moved back to Haywood County in 2023, he loved the mountains and people, especially so many gracious native Haywood County folks. He enjoyed his walks on nature trails and never took for granted living in such a beautiful place.
After sustaining faith, he was in the simplicity of listening to Jesus. He had an intimate faith and never prayed out loud, but surely did pray.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 7, 2024, at Riverside Baptist Church with Reverend Steve Frazier officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. prior to services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Riverside Baptist Church, 2171 Lake Logan Road, Waynesville, NC 28786.
God didn’t promise days without pain, laughter without sorrow, sun without rain, but he did promise strength for the day, comfort for the tears and light for the way - AMEN
