Bridget (McDonagh) “Bridie” Quigley of Stoneham passed away peacefully at her home with her loving family by her side on Wednesday, February 8, 2023. She is 78 years of age.
Born on Sunday, July 23, 1944 in County Galway, Ireland, Bridie is the loving daughter of the late Colman McDonagh and Bridget (Lydon) McDonagh. Bridie is a warm, kind and caring daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt and friend who will be truly missed by all who knew her.
Bridie immigrated to the United States of America and lived with her Uncle Mathias Lydon, Aunt Julia (McDonagh) Lydon and her cousin Maryann (Lydon) Quigley in Dorchester. In June of 1969 she married Owen Quigley whom she was happily married to for over 53 years. In June of 1970, she welcomed her only child Colm. They moved to Stoneham where they have lived ever since. She worked at the Stoneham Stop & Shop for more than twenty years, where she made many friends both coworkers and customers alike. She loved going to the beach, the smell of the sea air reminded of the home she grew up in in Ireland. She attended mass at St. Patrick’s in Stoneham every week. She enjoyed the mass as well as catching up with friends she made there before mass would start.
Bridie is the beloved wife of Owen Quigley. The devoted mother of Colm Quigley, she is the dear sister of Coley McDonough, Patrick McDonagh and his wife Judy, Thomas McDonagh and his late wife May, Judy Conneely and her husband Peter, the late Mary Officer and her surviving husband Dale and the late Michael McDonagh.
