Irene E. (Leach) Mullowney of Stoneham passed away on Saturday, August 9, 2025 at her home. She was 104 years of age.
Born on Wednesday, June 1, 1921 in Brooklyn, New York, Irene was the loving daughter of the late Edward Leach and Irene (Guinan) Leach. Irene was a warm, kind, loyal & gentle daughter, wife, stepmother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend who will be deeply missed.
Irene was the beloved wife of the late Gerald F. Mullowney. She was the devoted stepmother of Mary Agnes Mullowney, Eileen Mello and her husband Joseph, Patricia Starkey and her husband Joseph, Gerald Mullowney Jr. and his partner Amelia, Alice Mullowney and James Mullowney and his wife Mary J. The cherished grandmother of Terrence Mello, Gregory Mello, Mary Patenaude and her husband Andrew, Paul Starkey, Eileen Mullowney and her husband Mike Schindel and Julie Mullowney, Irene was the doting great grandmother of 3.
Family and friends are cordially invited to attend a Funeral Mass Celebrating Irene's Eternal Life on Saturday, August 16th at 10am in Immaculate Conception Church, 467 Delaware Avenue, Kingston, New York 12401. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery, Kingston, New York.
