Bridget McGoohan

Bridget McGoohan (nee Kelly) passed into her eternal reward on March 27, 2025. Born on October 23, 1936 in Athboy, County Meath, Ireland.
In 1966, she married her husband William McGoohan and raised their family in the Riverdale section of the Bronx, NY. She was a devoted mother of Karen, Mary, Bridget and Liam. Bridget was a loving mother-in-law to Daniel Doherty, husband to Mary and Denis McCarthy, husband to Bridget. She was also a beloved grandmother to Caitlyn, Meghan, Aileen, Katie and Denis. A dear Aunt also to many nieces and nephews at home and in Ireland.
Bridget was predeceased by her husband Willliam and her siblings, Mary, Mick, Greta and Jimmy, who'll welcome her to peace and grace.
Bridget loved her cup of Barry's Irish tea, spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was especially proud of all her granddaughters who performed Irish Dance, and became interested in Irish music, song and theatre, also especially fond of her only grandson Denis Francis.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the wake, which will be held on Tuesday, April 1st from 4 to 7 PM at Riverdale-on-Hudson Funeral home, 6110 Riverdale Avenue, Bronx NY.
A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Bridget's life will take place on Wednesday, April 2nd at 9:45 AM at St. Margaret of Cortona Church, 6000 Riverdale Avenue, Bronx, NY, followed by interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY.
