It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Bridgette Latrelle Bouknight- Barnes, born on January 8, 1972, in Alma, Georgia, departed from this life on May 30, 2025, who at the age of 53, Bridgette graced the world with her vibrant spirit and infectious smile, which could light up the darkest of days.
Bridgette was the beloved daughter of Elizabeth and Nathaniel Bouknight, who instilled in her the values of hard work, compassion, and the importance of family.
She was preceded in death by her father, Nathaniel Bouknight, as well as her sister, Tia Bouknight, her brother, Latrakeus Bouknight, and her grandmother, Bernice (Sister Barnes) Miley. Their memories will forever be cherished and honored by those who remain.
Despite the adversities she faced, including a brave battle with breast cancer, Bridgette exemplified resilience and strength. She showed unwavering courage through her illness, always maintaining her bright smile that could uplift anyone around her. Her spirit was a beacon of hope and love.
Bridgette's educational journey was as inspiring as her life. She graduated from Bacon County High School in 1990 and went on to become a certified electrician and began working at Fleetwood. Later, she pursued her passion for caring for others, earning a Practical Nursing Diploma in 2009. Her dedication to her profession was evident as she worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at various facilities from 2009 to 2014. In 2015 she started her career at Bacon County Hospital where she was loved by all from co-workers to patients. Above all, Bridgette was a devoted mother.
She is survived by her three children: daughters Latristany (Lallie) Faulk and Lataysha Bouknight, and son Termarkius Bouknight. She is also survived by her mother, Elizabeth Bouknight, sister, Samona Bouknight, and brothers Timothy Coleman, Terrian (Pop) Barnes and Derick Garmon.
Her legacy lives on through her cherished grandchildren: Amsi Armengolt, Jaspin Bouknight, London Robertson, Germani Faulk, Italy Faulk, Maurice Goins Jr, Sydney Paulk, Jalaa Carter, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. The love she shared with her family and friends was immeasurable, and she never missed a chance to gather them, laugh with them, and create lasting memories.
Known for her beautiful smile, loud laughter, and her love of music, Bridgette spent her free time enjoying every moment with her grandchildren. Her happiness was contagious, and her positive energy was a gift to everyone blessed to know her. She had a unique ability to find joy in the little things, reminding us all of the beauty in life.
As we gather to celebrate the life of Bridgette Bouknight-Barnes, let us remember her for the love she shared, the joy she brought, and the lessons she taught us about resilience and kindness. May her memory be a blessing and an inspiration to all who knew her.
