Brigham "Briggs" Stephen Buehler
July 8, 2025 – September 26, 2025
With hearts full of both sorrow and gratitude, we share that our precious son, Brigham "Briggs" Stephen Buehler, was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on September 26, 2025. After a courageous fight in the NICU, Briggs passed peacefully in the arms of his parents, surrounded by the love and prayers of family and the devoted staff who cared for him so tenderly.
In his short time on earth, Briggs displayed a strength and resilience far beyond his years. His life brought together countless people in prayer and faith, teaching us the power of God's love and the beauty of community. From family and friends to an incredible church family that lifted him daily in prayer, Briggs united hearts and drew many closer to Christ. Though his days were few, his impact was immeasurable-he touched countless lives and reminded us all to trust in God's goodness, even in the hardest of seasons.
Briggs is deeply loved and will be forever cherished by his parents, Colt and Nikole Buehler, and his big sister, Scarlett Justice. He is also survived by his maternal grandparents, Earl and Lena Minson; paternal grandparents, Stephen and Sharon Buehler; maternal uncle, Earl Minson III; cousins Skyla, Addie, and Rollie Minson; paternal uncle and aunt, Dalton and Tara Buehler, and cousin, Bennett Buehler. Briggs is also survived by his great-grandparents, John and Doris Buehler, and Robert and Geraldine Worley. He was welcomed into Heaven by his maternal great-grandparents, Noble and Peggy Crider, and Earl and Betty Minson. He leaves behind many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins who will carry his memory in their hearts.
A memorial service to celebrate Briggs' life will be held at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, October 9, 2025, at Purpose House Church in Herrin, Illinois, with Pastor Jason McKinnies officiating. A private burial service for family will follow at a later date.
The family requests memorials made to the Ronald McDonald House.
The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to the Children's Hospital NICU staff who surrounded Briggs with such extraordinary care and love, becoming an extension of our family during his journey. We are also deeply grateful for the immense community of church family, friends, and loved ones who faithfully prayed, encouraged, and stood beside us. Your unwavering love and intercession carried us through and will always be part of Briggs' story.
Though we grieve his loss deeply, we hold firm to the hope of Christ's promise: "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." – Psalm 34:18
Until we meet again, sweet Briggs, your light will shine in our hearts forever.
