Brigid ("Breda") Walsh (nee Greene), age 89, of Jersey City, passed away on Sunday, January 14th, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. Brigid was born in Co. Wicklow, Ireland to the late Molly (nee Donohoe) and Patrick Greene. Brigid was a young girl when she and her family immigrated to the United States. The family resided in Hoboken for many years. After her graduation from St. Michael's High School in Union City, Brigid moved to Jersey City. Brigid was a bookkeeper for 25 years at St. Ann's Home(Peace Care @ St. Ann's) in Jersey City where she met and remained friends with numerous loving co-workers.
Brigid was the devoted wife to her late husband Patrick Walsh. She is predeceased by her brother Patrick Greene, her daughter Maureen, and son-in-law Ricky Rooney. Brigid, lovingly known to her children as "Bridge the Midge", is survived by her son Patrick Walsh and daughter-in-law Janice ("Nordquist") of Sayreville and son John Walsh of Jersey City. Brigid is also survived by her grandchildren Shannon and Patrick Jr. and "bonus" daughter Kerry "Golden" Edmundson. Brigid leaves behind numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and her many friends and neighbors with whom she resided in the Greenville section of Jersey City..
The funeral mass to celebrate Brigid's life will be held on Saturday, January 20th, 10:30am at St. Paul the Apostle Church, 14 Greenville Ave. Jersey City. Burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington.
