Brigitte Dobler

Brigitte Dobler-our loving sister, tante, TB, aunt, second mom, and extraordinary friend-passed away peacefully on April 2, 2025, at the age of 66, surrounded by her loved ones, after a years-long battle with PSP, a cruel, degenerative disease that wore her down physically and neurologically.
Brigitte was a woman of many talents, with successful careers in both hospitality and floral design. In each, she didn't just serve customers-she dazzled them. Many tried to become her friend (and many succeeded-you know who you are). She had an undeniable gift for lifting spirits, cracking a joke at just the right moment, and making everyone around her feel uniquely seen and special.
A passionate and gifted cook, Brigitte traveled to Italy-her favorite destination-five times to attend cooking classes. While it was never officially confirmed by the school itself, we're fairly certain she was their best student of all time. Always generous, always hosting, she served up hundreds of lunches, dinners, and legendary shindigs over the years, met with a chorus of: "That was the best [BLANK] I've ever had in my life." Her recipes live on in countless kitchens.
When we asked those who knew her to describe Brigitte in one word or phrase, the responses flooded in:Authentic. Brave. Encouraging. Kind. Stoic. Zest. Sass. Generous. Compassionate. Humorous. Bold. Wise. Witty. Sage. Larger than life. A rainbow. A good-energy hugger.
The outpouring of love for her has been as tremendous as it is heartwarming-but not at all surprising. True to form, Brigitte even donated her big, beautiful brain to neurological research, in the hope it may contribute to finding a cure for PSP.
In lieu of a formal memorial, we celebrated her with a small family dinner days before she passed. She chose the menu (of course), filled it with her favorite foods, and curated a playlist for the occasion. We toasted her life-too short, but rich with love, laughter and so much joy.
Our world feels off balance without her physical presence-but we look to the heavens and see a light that will still shine on us for the remainder of our days.
