Britain James Reeves, age 46, of
Rosenberg, Texas, passed away at his home on December 26, 2025. He was born on July 2, 1979, in
Houston, Texas, and grew up in
Bellville, Texas, where he built the foundation for a life dedicated to service and family.
Britain was baptized at St. John Lutheran Church in
Bellville, Texas, in 1995 with his mother, Adona Reeves. He later became a member of Coastal Plains Cowboy Church in Boiling, Texas.
Britain was a 1997 graduate of Bellville High School and went on to dedicate his life to serving others as an EMT and firefighter. Throughout his more than 20 years in public service, he worked for Washington County EMS, the Montgomery County Hospital District, and several fire departments, including the Bellville Volunteer Fire Department, where he rose to the rank of Captain; the Anahuac Volunteer Fire Department, where he served proudly as Fire Chief; and most recently, the Fairchild Fire Department, where he was an active and valued member until his untimely passing.
Britain is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Jamie Lynn Baker-Reeves, and their two sons, Cooper William Reeves and Gavin James Reeves, both 17. He is also survived by his brothers, Robin Reeves Jr. and wife Melissa of Russell, Kansas, and Deric Reeves and wife Kim of Fulshear, Texas; aunts Karen Hagan of Tomball, Texas, and Shanda Manners and husband Dana of Magnolia, Texas; cousins Bill Cummings of Conroe, Texas, Magan and husband Chris Fields of Tomball, Texas, Erica and husband Raul Gutierrez of Austin, Texas, and James and wife Courtney Manners of Tomball, Texas. Second Mom Kathy Johnson of Kenney, Texas, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who loved him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Adona Hagan of
Bellville, Texas; father, Robin Reeves Sr. of Trinity, Texas; father- and mother-in-law, William and Peggy Baker of Mont Belvieu, Texas; grandparents, James and Frances Hagan of
Houston, Texas, and W.D. and Mabel Reeves of Trinity, Texas; and his beloved aunt, Holly Hagan of
Bellville, Texas.
Britain will be remembered for his kind heart, strong work ethic, and lifelong dedication to helping others. Whether it was through his service as a firefighter or his devotion as a husband, father, brother, and friend, he touched countless lives with his courage and compassion. His memory will live on in the family he loved so deeply and in the many people whose lives he helped protect and save.
The family would like to give special thanks to Chief Josh Shed, Assistant Chief Kyle Powers and the entire Fairchild Fire Department for all their love and support during this difficult time, and their continued friendship, strength, and care.
Pallbearers will be Rob Reeves Jr., Deric Reeves, Dana Manners, Chris Fields, Evan Engler, and Kent White.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 4, 2026, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Knesek Family Funeral Chapels, 842 East Main Street,
Bellville, Texas 77418.
Funeral services will take place on Monday, January 5, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., also at Knesek Family Funeral Chapels, with graveside services to follow immediately at Pilgrim's Rest Cemetery, 2565 Pilgrim's Rest Road,
Bellville, Texas.
