With deep sorrow and abiding love, we announce the passing of Phillip Jackson Unzicker on February 17, 2026. Phil left this world peacefully in the arms of his devoted wife, Jessica Celeste Bohart. Phil and Jessica had an unwavering companionship that was a source of strength and joy throughout their 27 years together. His gentle spirit and steadfast love will forever echo in the hearts of those who knew him.

Phil's life was marked by dedication to his family and his work. He was successful in painting, golf, music, and training horses. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dean and Flora Unzicker and his son Scott William Unzicker. He was a loving father to Kelli Ann Luepkis and Kristi Marie Unzicker, a cherished grandfather to Chani Ann Luepkis, Raani Braddock Castillo, Zoey Michelle Carr, and Brice Andrew Carr, and a proud great-grandfather to Lucas and Lylli Roberts.

Phil was born in Decatur, Illinois and grew up in Pekin, Illinois. He was a dedicated student and with an IQ of 167 he excelled in mathematics and science. He earned a Chemical Engineering degree from the University of Illinois at Champaign. He received a master's degree in business from Louisiana State University. In Houston, Phil built a distinguished career as a project manager, contributing his expertise to companies like Fluor Corporation and S&B. His colleagues remember him as a mentor, a problem-solver, and a friend.

Above all, Phil will be remembered for his knowledge, incredible sense of humor, warmth, integrity, and the quiet strength with which he faced life's challenges. He inspired those around him to live with compassion, patience, and reason.
