Brittany J. Mitchell

Brittany J. Mitchell, age 36, passed away unexpectedly after a long illness on Wednesday, November 22, 2023. She was born on May 22, 1987, in Albany, NY and was the daughter of Samuel S. and Sheila A. (Broadus) Mitchell, Jr.. Brittany was a graduate of Saratoga Spring Senior High School and earned her bachelor's degree in actuarial science at the University at Albany. She was employed by Rural LISC Housing Development in Saratoga Springs as a Program Officer in lending.
Brittany was a faith filled young woman who was ever close to her Lord and Savior. She enjoyed her family and spending time with her puppy Yoshi. She loved to travel – especially to Merida, México. She had a penchant for the arts and expressed her creativity using fountain pens and practicing beautiful calligraphy. She reveled in planting and gardening with her mother, hiking, and decorating.
She was the beloved daughter of Samuel and Sheila Mitchell, Jr.; caring sister of Brandon Mitchell; dear paternal granddaughter of the late Samuel S. Mitchell Sr. and the late Elizabeth Mitchell; dear maternal granddaughter of the late Charles S. Broadus and Jean Broadus; cherished niece of Ellen Shareef, Cheryl Broadus, Elliot Broadus, Danielle Broadus, Teresa White, and Dera Hutcheson.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 from 12:30 PM-1:30 PM at First Baptist Church of Ballston Spa, 202 Milton Ave., Ballston Spa, NY 12020.
A funeral service will follow and be led by Pastor David Waldo at 1:30 PM at the church.
Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Troy.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to either American Cancer Society - Hope Lodge – New York City, or Saratoga County Animal Shelter.
