I had the pleasure of meeting her during her visit to Merida at a board game night. We went out a couple of times during my work visits to the city. I enjoyed learning about her family and the African American experience in the USA. Earlier this month, when I arrived in Merida, I texted her to check if she was back in town as she had mentioned she was observing a health issue but wanted to come back. I was hoping she would be back, but unfortunately, a mutual friend informed me that she is now in heaven. I am deeply sorry for the loss of your wonderful daughter.
