Maddison Brooke Buffington
(2/25/2004–9/6/2025)
Forever twirling, forever shining
Maddison Brooke Buffington, age 21, of Douglasville, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, September 6, 2025.
An exceptional young woman, Brooke loved life and her family with a passion. She was stunningly beautiful, with legendary charisma and an infectious smile that lit up every room she entered. Brookey's sparkling personality, radiant presence, and warmth will forever remain treasures in the hearts of those who loved her.
This photo of Brooke captures her perfectly-graceful, joyful, and full of light, twirling as if the world itself were her stage. That is how she lived: with movement, beauty, and a spirit that could not be contained.
Brooke was a graduate of Haralson County High School and a student at the University of West Georgia. She was a Christian and a member of Pilgrim's Rest Baptist Church in Fruithurst, Alabama. Her faith, rooted there, shaped the foundation of her life and could be seen in her compassion for others, her honesty, and her deep love for people.
She built her own small business in lash extensions and dreamed of a career in real estate. She possessed a wisdom far beyond her years and a rare emotional intelligence. She listened with her whole heart, making others feel deeply heard and understood. When she spoke, her honesty and grace carried quiet power-her classmates leaned in, her friends drew strength from her words, and her family knew they came from a place of love and truth. As one of her instructors noted, she was "aware, ambitious, fiercely honest, and worthy of respect."
Above all, Brooke loved deeply. She had a huge heart, and her laughter, her hugs, and her radiant smile brought joy to everyone she met. As her family reflects, "When Brookey smiled, the whole world seemed brighter."
Brooke was preceded in death by her brother, Andrew Malachi Buffington. She is survived by her mother and stepfather, Clarice and John Henderson; by her father, Joseph Buffington; former stepmother, Amanda Carr; her former stepfather, Drew McNeese; her sisters, Jada Buffington and McKenzie McNeese; her brother, Dillon McNeese; her stepbrothers, Nikolas and Nathan Henderson; her paternal grandparents, Louie and Anita Buffington; her maternal grandparents, Gerald Hart, Nancy and Carlos Deupree; her paternal great grandmother, Linda Worthy; her maternal great grandparents, Carlotta (David) Legget; her uncles, Jeffery (Leigh) Faulkner, Corey Hart, Ben and Bradley Welsh; many beloved cousins, and countless dear friends and loved ones. A heartfelt thank you to Jennifer Schneider and Kameko Powell for loving our Brookey.
