Forever his family's strong protector, Brooks Jordan Proctor went to be with his Lord and
Savior Jesus Christ, on July 11, 2023. Brooks was born at home in
Laramie, Wyoming on
September 21, 1986 to David and Nancy Proctor. He was the fourth of seven children. Brooks
was a natural-born leader, a creative entrepreneur and innovator, with the heart of the
Rocky Mountains.
Brooks lived an incredible story-filled life. After 9/11, he wanted to serve our country, so he
enlisted in the United States Army. He graduated with the Bravo Airborne 101st Division and
served from 2005 to 2010. Then re-entered the reserves in 2012. His military service took
him all over the world from Afghanistan to Iraq, Japan, and Malaysia. He especially loved
being stationed in Okinawa, Japan where he loved the culture and the people. He served two
tours in Afghanistan and a tour in Iraq.
Brooks had a great sense of humor, an infectious laugh and was a friend to all who knew him.
He was a leader in the truest sense. People wanted to share in his hobbies and passions. He
was very strong-willed, intensely brave, fearless, selfless, and he always put others first.
Brooks enjoyed the life he built with his wife Jennifer and was a very proud stepfather. He
loved his family intensely and cared deeply for veterans. He offered a listening ear to anyone
in need and was so proud to serve as a Post Commander for the American Legion Post 38.
Brooks was also a very driven entrepreneur, which led him to start Embark B2B Inc. with his
business partner, Brett Kelly. Their business specialized in installing audio and video
equipment and hosting IT services for hotels, minor-league baseball teams, and many other
businesses. Brooks was an avid tinkerer and liked fixing things. He loved his Creator and
spending time outdoors in the beautiful Rocky Mountains.
In our grief, God calls us to remember Isaiah 30:18-19 (ESV) which says, "Therefore the Lord
waits to be gracious to you, and therefore he exalts himself to show mercy to you. For the
Lord is a God of justice; blessed are all those who wait for him. You shall weep no more. He
will surely be gracious to you at the sound of your cry. As soon as he hears it, he answers
you."
Brooks was our hero and though he could push buttons, we loved the hell out of him.
Brooks is survived by his wife, Jennifer, his step-daughters Kylee and Karyn, his step-sons
Adrian and Chandler, his mother, Nancy Proctor, and his siblings Janell, Jaren, Shea (Jacque),
Hayley (Anthony), Drew (Katrina), and Ashton. He was preceded in death by his father, David
Proctor, and his grandparents, Leslie and Maxine Proctor and Rev. Earle and Berneita Harvey.
The family invites you to share in a celebration of Brooks' life at the American Legion Post 38
(6685 Southmoor Dr. Fountain, CO 80817) on July 29, 2023 at 2 pm to share stories and
memories of our beloved husband, brother, son, father, and soldier.
