Browne Barr

Browne Barr passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on April 30, 2025. Browne was born to Judson and Georgia Barr on May 15, 1932. The Barr family thanks the Edgewater and Wesley Hospice Staff for their thoughtful care. A visitation will be held Sunday, May 4th in the Event Center at Edgewater (9225 Cascade Ave., WDM IA) from 1-3 PM.
Browne attended high school in Wheaton, Illinois where he met his wife, Suzanne Lambert. He owned Bar-B Travel Plazas in eight states. After selling the travel plazas he partnered with his son on a Taco Time restaurant in Missoula, Montana. Browne loved to drive cross-country in tractor trailers trucks, fly in his airplane and travel in his motor coach.
Browne is survived by his loving wife Sue; his children Nancy Adrianse (Jim), Doug, Tom (Mindy), Jud (Heidi), Jenny Wicks (Seth); son in-law Marvin Megel; his grandchildren John Adrianse (Jen), Christy Ites (Aaron), Justin Barr, Niki Barr, Matt Barr (Jessica), Katie Barr (Chi), Megan Barr (Jason), Misha Barr, Lena Barr, Lesa Wicks, Dallas Wicks and six great grandchildren. Browne is preceded in death by his parents, sister Marion Fowler, brothers Bill and Bob, daughter Julie Megel (Marvin) and daughter-in-law Linda Barr.
