Bruce D. Alden

Bruce D. Alden, 81, of New York Mills, passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at Wynn Hospital, Utica. He was born in Thiells, NY on October 6, 1942, a son of the late Donald and Rosemary (Lombard) Alden and was raised in Frankfort and graduated from Mohawk High School Class of 1961. Bruce was well liked by everyone he met, and often made instant friendships. He was a happy-go-lucky, carefree and spirited person that had a way of making everyone laugh. He was well known throughout the Valley and Utica area as a talented artist and photography. Bruce worked for the Masonic Care Community for many years until his retirement. On November 6, 1976, in Utica, he was united in marriage to Carol A. Shires. She predeceased him on February 7, 2019.
Surviving are his son and daughter in law, Donald "Bruce" and Erin Alden of Oriskany, daughter, Rachael Alden; grandchildren, Logan and Vanessa Alden of Oriskany. Bruce loved his family very much and would always enjoy talking about the good times they had when the kids were growing up. Also surviving are his in-laws, Linda Kelly of Utica, Joseph Shires and Patricia Shires both of Utica, several nieces, nephews and cousins and good friends, Mike McGlynn, Marty Gorton and Tom Clark.
Predeceased by two infant grandchildren, Vincent and Lacey Alden
Graveside services in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Whitesboro will be held on Friday, August 2, 2024, at 1 PM.
