Bruce passed away peacefully at his residence in Midland on Monday, June 2, 2025 at the age of 76. He was born to the late Francis and Shirley (Macauley) Bednarczyk on January 29, 1949 in Bay City, Michigan. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He retired from Steering Gear in 2009, where he worked from his return from Viet Nam to his retirement. He was an avid outdoorsman and was always looking to get outside, whether it be to fish, hunt or just simply to enjoy a peaceful walk in the woods. Bruce loved riding his Harley and taking his boats “UFO I and UFO II” out to Lake Michigan, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. With his white hair and long white beard, children would mistake him for Santa Clause, very much like Tim Allen in “The Santa Clause.” He was full of joy, a kid at heart who loved to laugh and you could always count on him to make a joke.
Bruce is survived by his children, Lisa (Thomas) Neuman and Thomas (Yvonne) Bednarczyk; grandchildren, Katelyn Bowen, Jessica (T.J.) Beach and Aric Colberg; great grandchildren, Thomas Buck, Gracie Nilo, Addelyn Nilo, Jason Beach, Cooper Beach and Ella Beach; brothers, James (Karen) Bednarczyk, Rev. Gary (Lainey) Stevens and Mark (Laura) Bednarczyk; sister, Susan (J. Richard “Dick”) Mulvey; sister-in-law, Joan Bednarczyk, special friend, Nancy Shick and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Alan Bednarczyk and nephew, Michael Bednarczyk.
Celebration of Life for Bruce will take place on Saturday, June 21, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Gephart Funeral Home with Military Honors starting at 1:00 p.m., performed by the Bay County Veterans Councils and the United States Army. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wishes of the Family.
