Ludwik Bednarczyk Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Old Bridge Funeral Home on Jan. 5, 2026.
Ludwik G. Bednarczyk, 85, known to many as George, passed away suddenly at his home on December 31, 2025. Born in Czaniec, Poland, George came to the United States upon the Queen Mary in 1956 at the age of 16, not knowing any English. He was drafted into the United States Army in 1962, proudly serving his country as a Private First Class until his honorable discharge in 1964.
George worked as an Account Manager for Lucent Technologies. Prior to being drafted into the service, George was being scouted to play soccer for Arsenal. Before they were married, his wife, Dina, spotted him as the only blond haired, blue-eyed soccer player, playing for a semi-professional Italian soccer league in Brooklyn, NY. They were together soon thereafter. He had a passion for the game and enjoyed watching it, no matter who was playing. George also loved dining, deep conversation, sharing his life experiences, helping people, mentoring young people, boating, fishing, traveling to Florida and Sea Isle City but, above all, he cherished every moment he had with his family.
Predeceased by his loving wife Dina in 2019, George leaves behind his family; daughter: Debra and her husband James; sons: Joseph and Peter and his wife Jennifer; four grandchildren: Jake, Jillian, Sarah and Julia; as well as his sister: Diane of Brookyln, NY.
Visitation will be held at Old Bridge Funeral Home, 2350 Route 516, Old Bridge, NJ 08857 on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, from 4 pm until 8 pm and on Thursday, January 8, 2026, beginning 11:00 am. Funeral services will begin at the funeral home on Thursday at 11:30 am with burial and military honors to follow at Chestnut Hill Cemetery in East Brunswick.
