Bruce E Boles of
Covington, Kentucky, passed away leaving behind a family who loved him deeply and will miss him always. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, and a man whose life was centered on hard work, family, and showing up for the people he loved. Bruce Boles was proceeded in death by his Wife, Bonnie Sue Boles, mother, Liza Mae Phillips; father, Henry Boles; brothers, Roland Boles, Billy Boles and Larry Boles; sister, Edna Striker; and grand-daughter, Felicia Ande. He was the proud father of six (6) children (Sue Boles, Covington; Linda Boles, Covington; Bonnie Boles, Independence; Bruce Boles (Sonja), Covington; Joseph Boles, Covington, Billy Joe Boles, Indiana). Grandfather to ten (10) grandchildren and great grandfather to fifteen (15) great grandchildren and brother to two (2) siblings (Barbara Eaton, Florence; Bud Boles, Orange County, California). He worked tirelessly to provide for his family and took great pride in taking care of each and every one of them. For over 50 years, he was married to the love of his life, Bonnie. After her passing in 2019, he missed her everyday. Their marriage was a true partnership. He showed his love through constant care always making sure she had what she needed, from new cars to special pieces of jewelry, but most of all through his steady devotion and presence. A hardworking man through and through, he worked seven days a week and owned a furniture and antique store in Cincinnati (Boles Furniture). Weekends were spent loading up his truck and heading to flea markets, and Friday's often started early with drives to Renfro Valley auctions to find the next piece. His trucks were always loaded. Many remember his yellow truck, hauling furniture from one place to the next, always full and always on the move. Even after long days of work, he and his wife could be found working side by side in the yard. He was well known and well liked, respected for his kindness, honesty and strong work ethic. He never drank or smoked and lived a simple life. He loved to joke and was known for his sometimes mischievous slightly dirty sense of humor that kept everyone laughing. Tennessee held a special place in his heart. Family vacations to Tennessee were a tradition, and many stories are still told about him loading up his box truck and driving his six kids down together. Years later, he continued that tradition by taking his grandchildren to Gatlinburg. Those trips created memories that will be cherished forever. Their home was always open. Holidays were always hosted there, and everyone was welcome. Fourth of July and Labor Day parties brought together family, friends and neighbors, and it was never usual for friends to stop by unannounced and stay for dinner. There was always room at the table. Above all else, he will be remembered as a man who worked hard, loved deeply, and took care of his family in every way he knew how. His legacy lives on in the stories we tell, the traditions we carry forward and the family he built. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
