Bruce Alan Bratcher, 81, of Herrin, passed away Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at the Marion Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
Bruce was a retired salesman for Southern Illinois Wholesale.
Bruce served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
Bruce was an avid golfer and true-blue University of Kentucky basketball fan.
Bruce was born January 18, 1944 in Logan County, Illinois to Edward & Meryl Edna (Bruce) Bratcher.
Bruce married Brenda K. Kennedy on June 2, 1972 at the Radio Tabernacle Church in Herrin.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Brenda Bratcher of Herrin; brother and sister-in-law, Charles & Terri Bratcher of West Chicago, IL; nieces, Lou Anne & Jon Lough, Dana Bratcher, Vanessa Kennedy, and Valerie Kennedy; and great nieces and nephews, Nicholas & Sarah Lough, Allyson Lough & Zach Dodson, Jared & Brittany Kennedy, Tyler & Jessica Holland, and Sami Jo Goetting; and several great-great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Robert Wayne Bratcher.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 27, 2025 at Meredith-Waddell Funeral Home in Herrin with Rev. Ralph Brandon officiating. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Herrin City Cemetery with military rites.
