Bruce Alfred Chase age 70, of Sachse, Texas, passed away July 7, 2024. He was born on May 1, 1954, in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, to James Matthew Chase and Edith Bernice Chase. He was raised in Johnstown where he attended Conemaugh Valley High School and graduated in 1972. He attended Penn State University and ICM School of Business, where he obtained his degree. Bruce and Tracy later moved to Dallas, Texas where they lived for a short period before settling in Sachse, Texas. Bruce had a lifelong career as a Network Engineer and contributed to numerous innovative projects.
Bruce was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Hamilton Park where he served as a member of the Male Chorus for many years. Later, he joined as a member of One Accord Men’s Chorus. He enjoyed spending time with his family and gained the precious title of “Pops” when he became a grandfather. He loved attending his grandkids, McKinley and Myles, sporting events and extracurricular activities, including celebrating all their accomplishments. Everyone who knew Bruce could count on him being in attendance; however, he would arrive on his own time! On the weekends, you could catch him performing in musical concerts, riding his lawn mower, playing pool, or eating wings at Tipsy Chicken in Sachse.
Bruce is survived by his beloved wife, Tracy Calhoun Chase of Sachse, TX; son, Matthew James Chase and daughter in law, Keisha of Forney, TX; daughter, Camille Nicole Chase of Forney, TX; grandchildren, McKinley and Myles Chase; brother, Stephen Chase and sister in law, Alicia of York, PA; sister, Jacqueline Chase of Upper Marlborough, MD; Nephew, Bryan Chase and wife, Marisa of Olney, MD; great nephews, Tysen and Bryce Chase; and numerous family and friends including his beloved dog, Major Benjamin Chase.
Bruce is preceded in death by his father, James Matthew Chase and mother, Edith Bernice Chase of Johnstown, PA, along with numerous family and friends.
