Moseley Funeral & Cremation ServiceDavid Lee Chase, 78, of West Columbia, passed away at home on Tuesday, February 3, 2026. He was born on March 13, 1947, in Concord, NC, and he was raised in West Columbia, SC. David was a retired roofer and businessman.
David is survived by two sons, Christopher Lee Barnes (Debbie) of Irmo and Jerald David Chase of Alabama; a brother, Jimmy Chase of West Columbia; and two sisters, Deborah Hall of Pelion and Kathy Hanchett of West Columbia; and his best friend, Rose Chase Moates of Santee, who has been by his side most of his life. He is also survived by two grandsons, three great-grandchildren, and multiple nieces and nephews.
David was preceded in death by his mother, Ruby Bradley Norris, and his father, William Leander Chase; his brother, Danny Chase, a sister, Brenda Sue Whitten, and his son, David Lee Chase, Jr.
There will be a Celebration of Life at 12 noon on Sunday, March 15th, at Pelion Community Center, 951 Pine St., Pelion, SC. Lunch will be served. Any questions can be directed to Debbie Barnes (803-917-0377) or Rose Chase Moates.
