Bruce Edward Clack, 73, passed away on January 14, 2024 after a valiant battle with cancer.
Funeral services will be held 5:00 PM, Friday, January 19, 2024 in the chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory with Mr. Jason May. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. All friends and family are invited to a Celebration of Life at The Log Cabin at 1100 35th St. in Phenix City immediately following the service.
Bruce was born on December 1, 1950 in Camden, Arkansas to Wesley and Erin Clack. He is survived by his two beloved daughters, Laura Kay Clack, Leslie Elaine Cox (Michael), grandchildren Tyler and Nathan Cox. Bruce also relished his role as "Papa Bruce '' to his "inherited" grandchildren, Keileigh Mann, William (Bill) Mann, Gabrielle (Gabby) Mann, and Leah Stevens. Bruce also created a family at Vaughan Xpress, the company he proudly served for 15 years. Bruce is preceded in death by his brother Wesley (Butch) Clack.
Bruce was best known for being the life of the party. A born entertainer, he always had a smile on his face especially when making those around him laugh. If you don't have a funny story about Bruce, then you probably never had the opportunity to meet him. Bruce loved to be outside and enjoyed things such as camping, rafting, working on cars, and collecting many, many, many gadgets and tools. If you needed it, Bruce probably had it (if he could find it). Bruce loved starting new projects and figuring out how to make something work, but he didn't always love finishing them. Once he figured out how to do something, he was ready to move on to the next project. He was passionate about politics and loved to have a good debate, or just argue his point until he wore out his opponent. Bruce never took life too seriously and there was never a problem that couldn't be solved. Abraham Lincoln once said "In the end it's not the years in your life that count, it's the life in your years." Bruce wholeheartedly embraced that message and he will be greatly missed.
