Mr. Bruce Clark, born on February 22, 1948, in Houston, Texas, passed away on the morning of September 14, 2024. He was the youngest of five children born to Rufus Sr. and Willie Mae Clark. Bruce grew up in Harrisburg and attended schools at Savannah, Georgia Kay Elementary, James D. Ryan Jr. High, and graduated from Jack Yates High School in 1966. His siblings were Wanda Allen (1938-2010), Rufus Clark Jr. (1939-1979), Larry Clark (1944-2010), and Pamela Clark (1946-Still living).
After high school, Bruce volunteered to serve in the U.S. Navy, supporting the Vietnam War aboard the USS Intrepid Aircraft Carrier.
In November 1968, Bruce married Annie Nash in Houston, and together they had five children: Bruce Jr., Gary, Tina, Shawn, and Shelia. He also had a daughter, Arvet, from Lake Charles, Louisiana.
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings Wanda Allen, Rufus Jr., and Larry, as well as his son Gary, daughter Tina, granddaughter Tytiana Johnson, one niece Cherita Jones (Allen), three Nephews Gerald Allen, Kevin Allen, Anthony Clark, including his longtime companion, Mary Lewis.
He is survived by his sister Pamela Clark, sons Bruce Jr. and Shawn (Loann), daughters Shelia Johnson (Anthony) and Arvet LeDoux (Johnell), along with 29 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren, and a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Bruce Clark will be remembered for his devotion to family, his service to his country, and the love he shared with all who knew him. He leaves behind a rich legacy that will endure in the hearts of his loved ones.
