Bruce T. Cotton

Clinton - Bruce T. Cotton, 79, passed away peacefully at St. Mary Health Care Center on Sunday, March 1, 2026, following a period of declining health.

He is survived by his brother, Christopher Cotton and his wife Carolyn of Dunwoody, Georgia; his sister-in-law, Terry Cotton of Clinton; his dear friend, Mike Reed of Tewksbury; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. He was predeceased by his brother, Peter Cotton of Clinton.

Bruce was born and raised in Wellesley, the son of the late Harold and Dorothy (Carmer) Cotton. He attended school in Wellesley and at the Walter E. Fernald Developmental Center in Waltham. He lived independently and proudly worked at Star Supermarket in Wellesley for many years before retiring.

Bruce was an ardent fan and collector of music of all kinds and owned thousands of albums. A true musical aficionado, he was especially fond of classical music and had an extraordinary ability to identify composers, musical pieces, or orchestras simply by listening. Music brought Bruce great joy throughout his life, and he was a lifelong fan of WCRB Classical Public Radio of Boston.

He enjoyed reading and watching classic movies, especially the Three Stooges, Abbott and Costello, and old Hollywood horror films.

Bruce was a gentle and thoughtful soul who always had a kind word for everyone he met. He will be missed by many, especially the friends he made during the last ten years of his life at Corcoran House Assisted Living.

Bruce's family wishes to express their sincere appreciation for the care and compassion provided by the nurses and aides at St. Mary Health Care Center in Worcester, as well as the staff at Corcoran House Assisted Living in Clinton. Their thoughtful care and compassion for Bruce were unmatched, especially that of Executive Director Christine Montique.

Visitation and a brief funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Philbin-Comeau Funeral Home, 176 Water St., Clinton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Bruce Cotton to WCRB Public Radio at www.classicalwcrb.org.
