Bruce Courage Obituary Bruce W. Courage, Sr., 87, of Main Street, Rowley, MA, passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2023. He was the husband of Mary L. (Hutchinson) Courage for 49 years.
He was born in Malden, MA, on December 25, 1935, son of the late George and Evelyn (Powers) Courage.
Bruce had many jobs throughout the years, most notably Fireman, Metropolitan District Police Officer, and Massachusetts State Police Trooper.
He was a member of the Retired Association of Metropolitan Police and Former Massachusetts State Troopers Association. Bruce was very proud of his Marine Corp Service where he achieved the rank of Sergeant and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, loved being "Papa" to Kaylee and Jordyn, golfing, bocci and was a handyman extraordinaire.
Bruce is survived by his children, Bruce Courage, Jr., wife, Jody, Erich Courage, Kevin Courage, Ian Courage, Cristin Ellis, husband, Chris; brothers, George Courage, Keith Courage; sister, Barbara Courage; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter, Mary-Rose Marie Courage.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Graveside Service on Monday, April 17, at 12:00 p.m., at Rowley Burial Ground, Main Street, Rowley. In lieu of flowers kindly consider planting a Memorial Tree in Bruces memory.
