Bruce David Cruger
July 16, 1935 - March 7, 2022
VERONA - Bruce David Cruger, age 86, passed away on Monday, March 7, 2022, at his home in Verona. He was born in Madison, WI, on July 16, 1935, the son of Ashley and Elizabeth (Chadwick) Cruger. Bruce graduated from Sun Prairie High School where he played football and basketball. After high school, Bruce served in the U.S. Army. He worked for General Beverage Sales Co. as Warehouse Forman until his retirement. Bruce was a fan of Badger football and basketball and was a longtime member of Edelweiss Country Club. He was a charter member of All Saints Lutheran Church in Fitchburg.
Bruce is survived by his wife of 48 years, Mary; children, Tracey Langenbacker and Toni Hassen; stepchildren, Michael (Nicki Lo Presto) Riley, Sue (Bob Whetstone) Riley and Susan Riley; sister, Loretta (Cletus) Delvaux; seven grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert Cruger; and stepson, Christopher Riley.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:30 AM on Friday, March 11, 2022, at All Saints Lutheran Church, 2951 chapel Valley Rd, Fitchburg, with Pastor Kristin Neitzel Woelk presiding. A visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
