Bruce Dettman, age 71, a lifelong resident of Green Bay, WI, passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2025. He was born April 12, 1954 in Green Bay, WI, son of the late Edward and Dorothy (Widell) Dettman and was a graduate of Southwest High School.

Bruce continued his education at NWTC where he was trained as a machinist. He was employed by PCMC, retiring after 40 dedicated years. Bruce was united in marriage to Michele Welsch, January 20, 1979. They celebrated 46 years of marriage and adventures together.

Bruce was an adrenaline junkie. In his youth, he was a talented and award winning Motocross rider. Fondly known as "The Breeze", Bruce enjoyed Harley riding and wind surfing, as well. Playing guitar was one of his passions, taking after his mother, who also played. Their song they played together was "Lay Down Sally" by Eric Clapton. Bruce had a great love for his 3 fur babies: Gabby, Lola and Layla. His greatest joy was spending time at his cottage on Green Bay. Bruce always looked forward to his Saturday afternoons with his father-in-law, Gordon, solving the world's problems and spending time with friends who visited.

Bruce is survived by his wife, Michele; his son, Eric Dettman and 5 siblings: Brett Dettman, Julie (Rick) Calhoun, Clair Walker, Ann Dettman and Dave Dettman. He is further survived by in-laws, Todd (Terri) Welsch; many nieces and nephews: Angela, Charlie, Alexander, Andrew and Avery; and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Nicholas Dettman, his brother, Doug Dettman and his father and mother-in-law, Gordon and Muriel Welsch.

A celebration of Bruce's life will be held at Newcomer Chapel (340 S. Monroe Ave., Green Bay, WI), Thursday, July 17, 2025 from 3 to 4:30 PM. A memorial and sharing of memories will follow at 4:30 PM.

Special thank to the entire staff at Blue Jay Springs, especially Jessica, and to Interim Hospice for their care and compassion.
