In loving memory of John J. Dettman
Passed away on August 1st, 2025, at the age of 75, surrounded by his loving family.
Predeceased by his parents, Helen and Charles Dettman; sister, Nancy Dettman; brother-in-law, Fred Bauer, and his beloved dog, Lucy.He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Eleanor Dettman; children, John Dettman, Dan (Jolene) Dettman, Angie (Wesley) Wingate; daughter-in-law, Debora Altieri Dettman; seven grandchildren, Alyssa (Seth) Banfield, Julia Dettman, Haley (Jacob) Bender, Maia Foti, Joey Dettman, Alaina Dettman and Jaxon Wingate; siblings, Pat Bauer, Hollis Dettman, Mary Dettman, and Robert (Patty) Dettman.
John was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving from 1967 to 1970. He served in Korea with the first battalion, 17th artillery. He worked at Eastman Kodak for 28 years before retiring. In his retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and his dog, Lucy the most. John also never missed any of his grandchildren's sporting events OR a Yankee game.
Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Rochester, NY.
