Bruce E. Driscoll

Bruce Edward Driscoll, 79, passed away on March 26, 2024. Born on October 8, 1944 to Harold and Mildred Driscoll, Bruce was a graduate of Spring Valley High School, and then attended Ryder College, followed by the University of Maryland. Bruce served for 6 years in the U.S. Army, where he had an active tour of duty in Vietnam in the 9th Infantry Division. Bruce began his career at Driscoll Chevrolet in Spring Valley, NY, before enjoying a long run in the plastics industry, where he ultimately retired from Bamberger Polymers in 2013. Bruce also gave back to his community, and was heavily involved with Mahwah Youth Sports, and served as a softball, baseball and soccer coach. Bruce married Teri Driscoll (Starr) in 1970, and had 3 children, Karen, Laurie and Brian. Bruce then re-married in 2001 to Irina Ten, and took on his bonus daughter, Julia Tsoy.
If you knew Bruce, you would remember his jovial nature and his quick wit. In addition to spending his evenings watching Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune, Bruce was an avid New York Yankees fan, and like many fans, would express frustration when his beloved Yankees were on a losing streak. Bruce also loved fiercely and was immensely proud of his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed playing rounds of golf all over the globe with his wife, Irina, along with being a "Dog Dad," to his precious pups, Juno and Zeus.
Bruce is survived by his wife of 23 years, Irina Ten. Bruce is also survived by his sister, Joan Driscoll (Paone) of Melbourne Beach, FL, and his brother, Richard Driscoll, of Cocoa Beach, FL. Additionally, he is survived by his daughters, Karen Gouge (Jerry); Laurie Sawyer (Scott), Julia Tsoy, and his son, Brian Driscoll (Amanda). Finally, he is survived by his loving grandchildren: Ryan Flicker, Brayden Gouge, Kiptyn Gouge, Owen Sawyer, Evan Sawyer, Henle Newton, and Grey Driscoll.
Bruce was a proud husband, father, and grandfather. An expert in plastics, vacuums, and New York Yankees trivia. As for his golf game well, his handicap would suggest that he was more novice than expert. Finally, Bruce was selfless. He gave to his family, he gave to his community, and he gave to his country. The family would like to thank the team at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center, as they treated him with great care over the last 5 months.
