Bruce Erdman Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cooper Funeral Home Wanette Chapel on Feb. 2, 2026.
Bruce Otto Erdman, 62, of Wanette, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, surrounded by those he loved most.

Bruce was born on September 19, 1963, in Midwest City, Oklahoma, to Cecil Erdman and Doris (Hart) Erdman.

He attended Bethel High School, graduating in 1981, and went on to attend Seminole State University on a band scholarship until 1983. A talented musician, Bruce played the saxophone and carried his love of music throughout his life.

On February 6, 1998, Bruce married the love of his life, Teresa, and together they built a life centered on faith, family, and home. He and Teresa treasured spending quiet time together at home.

On July 22, 1991, He started working at Dexter Axle and was there for 34 years, where he was known for his dedication and strong work ethic.

Bruce had a special love for Christmas and was famous for decorating his two-acre yard, often creating many of the decorations himself. He also enjoyed decorating the church, sharing his joy of Christmas and creativity with others.

A faithful member of Liberty Gospel Tabernacle for 22 years, Bruce served as a deacon and door greeter, but his true passion was children's ministry. He found great joy ministering to children through puppetry, serving as the puppet team leader and even performing in a life-sized puppet costume that brought smiles to countless faces.

Bruce deeply loved his dog, Autumn, and all of his grand-dogs.

He was a wonderful son-in-law and brother-in-law, though he was never considered "in-law"-he was simply family, a son and a brother in every sense of the word.

He generously volunteered his time and donated to the Circle the Wagon Food Pantry in Lexington, Oklahoma, as well as the Denton Shoebox Ministry, ensuring children in Mexico had a Christmas gift to open on Christmas morning.

Bruce was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; his father-in-law and mother-in-law; and one great-nephew.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Teresa, of the home; his daughter, Tina; two brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; one brother; one niece; nine nephews; many great-nieces and great-nephews; and a host of friends who loved him dearly.

The family will hold a private graveside service in Tribbey, Oklahoma.
