Bruce F. Farney, 79, of Carthage, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 22, 2025, surrounded by his family.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Lundy Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., 500 State Street, Carthage, NY 13619. A funeral service will immediately follow at 4:00 p.m. in the Lundy Funeral Home Chapel, with the Reverend Canon Samuel P. Lundy, officiating. His burial will be held privately in the Fairview Cemetery in Carthage, NY.
Born on November 26, 1946, in Lowville, NY, Bruce was the son of the late Francis and Rose Farney. He graduated from Beaver Falls High School and subsequently enlisted in the United States Army, where he proudly served during the Vietnam War. A marriage to Viola Kline ended in divorce. He later married Julie A. (Garreffa) Farney on May 8, 1999. Julie passed in 2016.
Bruce is survived by his children, Angela Farney of Watertown, Danny (Renee) Davis of Carthage, Ricky Farney of Carthage, and Lisa DeLosh of Carthage; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Kathleen Farney and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Julie Farney; a daughter, Anna Farney; and a brother, Steven Farney.
Bruce enjoyed spending much of his time with his family. He was also an avid singer and could often be found on stage enjoying & singing karaoke.
