Bruce Michael Fearns

 

Bruce Michael Fearns, 61 passed away on Tuesday September 5th, 2023.

 

Bruce was born in North Miami FL to Walter and Joyce Fearns.  Bruce grew up in Sunrise FL.  In 1979 he met his wife Lisa, whom he married in 1992.  Bruce and Lisa have two beautiful children, Tyler and Casey, who meant the world to him.  They are his pride and joy.  He loved them so much and was so proud of them.  You could see it in his eyes anytime they were spoke of or paid a visit to see him.

Bruce was a Lieutenant Firefighter with the Broward County Fire Department, where he served for 30 years.  He was well admired by his colleagues.  During his career, he helped so many people and did so in a professional and compassionate manner.  

After retiring, Bruce continued to stay active and healthy.  He had a passion for surfing, playing golf, biking, boating and fishing.  Whenever there were waves, Bruce would grab his board and go.  He especially enjoyed anytime he could surf with his children.  He was an avid golf player and you could find him on the golf course 3-4 times a week.  Through the years, Bruce loved to create new experiences with his family by travelling to many different places to ski and surf.  Wonderful family memories that will always be remembered and cherished. 

Bruce is survived by his loving wife Lisa of over 40 years, his son Tyler, his daughter Casey, sister Kathy Kapalko, brothers Mike Fearns and Jamie Fearns as well as his nieces and nephews.  

Bruce will truly be missed by his wife, children, family and friends.
